1 nomination from readers

  • Quite honestly there are too many reasons to list here, but a few starters would be...

    1. Outstanding vision - the ability to embrace pioneering new ideas and work together with the community, business and academic to realise that vision.

    2. The council has bought sustainability to the very heart of its planning process and it taking bold and courageous steps to take the vision from paper to reality.

    3. A no nonesense, roll the sleeves up, get the job done with no dilly dallying attitude... while many other councils are busy pushing paper around, Salford Council get on with the job, getting several times as much done as another council would in the same timeframe.

    4. The council understands the diversity in its community and listens to everyone - no group is left out or overlooked - Salford City Council goes to great lengths to ensure all voices are heard and its strategies reflect the chorus of voices, rather than just the odd one of two.
